Recently my relative passed away and I've received her laptop. Only problem is that it has a password on it. Since it wasn't mine to start with I don't have a backup CD with the master password saved on it. I've talked to plenty of computer technicians and it all comes back with the same answer... "sorry we can't help you with this problem"... so... any words of advice? Or should i just forget about this laptop and go buy a new one.
There aren't many options to recover Windows password no matter how technology advances. For one option is to reinstall Windows system. 1. Download and install Windows Password Unlocker on any PC you have access to but not your locked PC. Run it to create a Windows password recovery disk with CD/DVD or USB.

Plug in a writable USB flash drive or pen drive, select Burn to USB option; select the drive name from the down list. Click Burn button. About one minute later, it will complete the process. Then remove your USB and transfer it to your locked PC.

2. Boot your PC from this disk by changing device boot order in BIOS SETUP.
3. PC restarts, Windows Password Unlocker run automatically. A friendly window appears, click an user account from the uer list and click Reset Password button. Click Yes when a confirm message pops up. Then the password will be removed and show blank. At this point, click Reboot button, when a confirm message pops up, remove your USB and click Yes. After restarting, you can access Windows user account without password.
