It's good to have a particular space in home where you could just sit and read your favourite books; there are so many books that you can bring home in. Well, if books are what make you forget the world behind, how about having a home library? It won't take you long before you'll have a space that talks about you, your taste. Here are the basics that you should keep in mind while planning a small library in your home:
Let Peace Prevail!
A library is a place where you would like to sit for hours (or, as long as you want) reading your favourite books without any distractions, right? So, you have to be very careful with the colours that you pick for the walls, the furniture you select for the room and ventilation. To begin with, you should pick the colours (for your walls) that evoke peace and serenity within the room. White is an all-time hit; you won't ever go wrong with White. Light blue can also be splashed at certain places.
Furniture
Stick to the minimalistic approach when bringing in furniture for the library; the furniture, however, should be of top-quality and eye-grabbing.
...
... Laminate companies, in the recent years, have come out with a fine line of laminates in different colours, textures and patterns; pick the laminates and add beauty to your furniture. New Mika from Greenply (one of the most-reputed laminate companies around) is an amazing collection of laminates that are manufactured in accordance with the principals of Vaastu Shastra. Just make sure the newly-applied laminate sheets are in accordance with the decor of the room. One more thing: get laminate sheets from reputable laminate suppliers only so that you always get full value for your money.
Ventilation
For a library where you would love to sit for hours, you got to make sure that the room is well-ventilated. A window is a must in the area so that the room gets natural light and fresh air. If the room already hasn't a window, think about any other alternative to bring in natural light and fresh air.
Last but not the least, have a room decor plan in place before you set-off on the mission to spruce-up your library area. Do a complete market-research as to what are your options and costs involved. All this will ensure that you have a library which is quite different from others and talk about your taste, your personality.
