The heritage city, Jaipur calls its visitors by its majestic forts and monuments. Hawa Mahal is a five-storied monument with overhanging 152 windows. This was originally made for royal ladies to view the procession in the streets. Now a museum functions here. The construction of the city was well planned as the City Palace is in the centre and the markets, residents and the public buildings are placed around the City Palace. Jaipur Havelis are very old and famous constructions with arched gates, big courtyards and beautifully carved balconies. Some of the famous Havelis in Jaipur are Nattani ki Haveli, Rajputana Haveli and Nawab Sahib ki Haveli.
Jaipur visit will not be complete without shopping in its streets. Bed sheets with traditional Jaipuri print, cloths with mirror work and other curios are a familiar sight in the markets. The main live markets in Jaipur are Sireh Deori Bazar, Johari Bazar and M.I. Road. Sireh Deori Bazar is a famous market that sells puppets. The famous tie and die fabric making, block printing, painting and sculpture making are some of the arts in Jaipur. You can get all the bandhani and block printed textiles from Johari Bazar. The jewelries are crafted and sold in Johari Bazar. The popular Kundan style jewelry is a much demanded item even from the foreign countries.
