Different types of methods are used to soften hard water; among which four of these methods work towards eliminating or reducing lime scale. However, all of these have some advantages and disadvantages. The physical water softener systems try to eliminate or reduce the formation of lime scale through physical process by means of altering the various properties of hard water. This is also a cost effective way to soften water, as it does not need electricity.
