The prices of houses in UK in June 2012 have increased and experts assured that they will be quite constant in coming second half of the year. This has been showed by the latest survey done by Halifax as far as the prices of the houses are concerned. The prices of the houses had gone up by 1 per cent on the month-on-month basis in the month of June. This was very much against the forecasts that there will be a fall in the prices that will be 0.2 per cent. There was a drop by 0.5 per cent year-on-year, but the yearly change that has seen very less sharp drop than the falls seen a year ago is a comparison is done. This is what Halifax has to say.
The latest study that they have done take into account average prices of the house up to the 162,417 pounds as well as Halifax has made a suggestion that the improvements that have come recently in the market of employment as well as levels of mortgage payments which have been very low even by the historic standards, might have also helped in keeping the prices up.
Martin Ellis who is the housing economist of the Halifax was of the view that from the past 12 months, there ...
... has been a lot of improvement in the yearly changes in the rates of the houses. He then added that in the month of May of the last year which was a year ago, the prices of the houses had got down on a yearly average of 4.2 per cent. In comparison to this, in the recent times, the rise and stability that have come on an annual basis has been somewhere between zeros as well as minus 0.5 per cent during the span of past 3 months. Ellis has expectations that this little change in prices as well as sales should remain the same provided a condition that the economic outlook of the country should also not look as if it has deteriorated on a larger level. But like him not everyone is so optimistic, as in contrast to this, Russell Quirk of the estate agents eMoov.co.uk was of the view that the main point of concern for the euro zone is that, it is further going to face the pressure on a downward level.
