Education online is very popular and is usually less expensive than conventional schools; but, not all schools have been through the process of accreditation. In order to become accredited, an institution must go through an evaluation, which is conducted by a review board and will determine whether the school meets or exceeds certain qualities. Some of the qualifications include goals and objectives of the institute, services made obtainable to the students and reputations of faculty members. For students, a school's accreditation is extremely important because the degrees or certificates earned through the institution are recognized by many employers. The majority of all pharmacy technician colleges require the student to be over eighteen years of age and they must have a high school diploma or it's equivalent. Researching a school and their reputation is recommended before applying. This ensures that the diploma or pharmacy technician certificate is accepted after graduation. Application Requirements & Course Curriculum The majority of schools call for the candidate to be 18 or older. They must also have a GED or high school diploma. Some of the courses that students seeking a pharmacy technician certificate can expect may include: Medical terminology, Pharmacy procedures, Classifications of drugs, Basic overview of human diseases, Prescription processing, Law and ethics. Students who are attempting to gain a certificate or pharmacy technician diploma have the prospect of learning effective communication. They will learn this along with managerial, plus hands-on clinical training. Job Search Many pharmacy technician institutes offer vocation guidance to graduating students to help them on their new career. For instance, schools may have a counselor or adviser that assist students with resume building and provide help with cover letters. These vocational counselors can also provide assistance to students in locating employment opportunities.
