The criteria for determining smartest animals can be different and the results could differ accordingly. Ability to communicate, problem solving skills and other such factors are taken into account while determining the intelligence levels in animals. Let's have a look at the top 10 smartest animals in the world. Many language experiments have shown that chimps are very creative and can learn to use symbols and also to teach them to others.
