Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, is often referred to as the Garden City. Strategically located at an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level, Bangalore, also known as Bengaluru, has a very pleasant climate throughout the year. The lady offered the King the boiled beans, and thus the place came to be known as 'Bendha kaalu ooru' (the land of boiled beans). Bendha kaalu ooru later came to be known as Bengaluru.

Bangalore was found by Kempe Gowda. Bangalore was also ruled by a number of rulers and dynasties, including the rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire and Tipu Sultan.
