Bangalore Packages - The It City
Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, is often referred to as the Garden City. Strategically located at an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level, Bangalore, also known as Bengaluru, has a very pleasant climate throughout the year. Bangalore got its name from the word 'Bendha Kaalu' (which means boiled beans in Kannada). The story is that once King Veera Ballala of the Vijayanagara Kingdom was lost in a forest and he came across a hut where an old woman lived. The lady offered the King the boiled beans, and thus the place came to be known as 'Bendha kaalu ooru' (the land of boiled beans). Bendha kaalu ooru later came to be known as Bengaluru.
Bangalore was found by Kempe Gowda. Bangalore was also ruled by a number of rulers and dynasties, including the rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire and Tipu Sultan.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and private buses connects Bangalore to all the major cities in Karnataka and other states. Bangalore City Railway station and Yesvantpur Junction are the main railway stations in Bangalore. The mass rapid transit system in Bangalore is called the Namma Metro and has currently started operation.
Bangalore, being a cosmopolitan city, has all the modern amenities and facilities at a world class level.
