Shimla is a beautiful Hill station in the Himalayan region of India and attracts large number of tourists coming from all over the world. The cultural wealth of the state is well preserved in the Shimla State Museum which houses a collection of Pahari paintings, ancient sculptures, bronzes, wood carvings, coins, photographs and also costumes, textiles and jewelry of the region.

The city also provides the visitors the best crafts of Himachal Pradesh. Wool and Pashmina Shawls are well-known in the globe market.

A visit to Shimla during festival has its own glory and fascination. Shimla is also popular as the land of fairs and festivals as it hosts a number of colorful festivals. The most popular Shimla festivals are: Ice Skating Carnival festival that is hosted during the winters, Rhyali festival that is celebrated in the rainy season, summer festival enjoyed in the summers, Baisakhi in mid of April month, Bhoj fair in November, Diwali in November and Christmas in December.
