Tata Aria crossover without a doubt is an ambitious project for Tata Motors, however the SUV has not been doing well in the domestic market. Despite launching a stripped down version of Tata Aria in the market, it has been showing extremely low sales. The company has made a huge investment on the SUV from development to marketing, looking at the low sales of the SUV has not lowered company’s spirit. Tata Motors is said to be working on the new Tata Aria in order to enhance its monthly sales.
Rumour mill is buzzing with the news of Tata Motors contemplating on a cut price version of Tata Aria crossover. To bring down the cost of Tata Aria crossover it seems that Tata Motors will extract some of the gadgets from the Aria. This will definitely help in bringing down Tata Aria to a much competitive level. At present the base model of Tata Aria crossover, Tata Aria 4X2 version is offered with ABS and EBD as a standard feature in the crossover. However, it is not confirmed whether Tata Motors will exclude these safety features from the crossover ...
... or not, but after excluding gadgets from the crossover, it is expected to cost around Rs 9.5 lakhs.
At this price tag, Tata Aria is sure going to hit the bull’s eye and hopefully it will upsurge the drowning sales of the crossover too. At this price the crossover will attract the cabbie segment too, therefore it will open another way for Aria’s sales. Many Tata cars are already a part of the taxi segment, which include Tata Indica, Tata Indigo eCS, these are the most fuel efficient cars which deliver a whopping mileage of 25 kmpl. Apart from this, these cars are also offered in both petrol and diesel version and that too worth a very remunerative price tag. The maintenance cost of Tata cars is low too which makes it a tempting choice in the taxi segment.
The new cut price variant of Tata Aria is expected to give a tough fight to the likes of Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo which are doing extremely well in their segments. However, there is no official announcement from the car maker yet, therefore this should still be considered as a rumour. Yet another SUV from Tata’s stables, Tata Safari is expecting a new version named Tata Safari Storme.
The launch of this new version has been postponed by two to three months, however any date has not been declared by the company. The SUV was even showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo held in New Delhi earlier this year at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Along with Tata Safari Storme, the current version will also be available for sale, it will not be phased out. Tata Safari Storme is expected to be more powerful, get better features and looks which will make it more appealing than the current version. As far as Tata Safari Storme price is concerned, there is no hint given by the company as of yet.
