Within UK (especially London), average age for couples to get married is within 30 -34. For a lot of people, this is a late age for marriage. With late marriage, gifts given by guests can put a serious question mark on the acceptability. In most of the case, couples have lived together long before tying the knot. They may have even set up a home in a suitable way. Then, what is the point in creating a wedding list for gifts?

In the western society, there is a tradition of gifting the couple with items while attending the marriage reception ceremony. It becomes a little weird to attend the reception party and not bringing any gift for the newlywed couple. But what happens when most of the common gift items are already in present within the couple’s house? This is where wedding lists for gift comes in handy.

If the couple does not want any material gift from guests, then it will be better to make a list of honeymoon expenses. They can request guests to provide them with the necessary cash to meet up with the ...
... expenses. In fact, someone can even gift the newlywed couple a travel journey ticket to their proposed destination. Someone can bear the expense of lodging. Some guests can gift them with some ideal honeymoon accessories.

In most of the case, guests spend around £50 for gifting purpose. If there are 100 guests being invited for the reception, then the amount will become £5000! This money if provided in cash, can serve useful purpose for the newly married couple during their honeymoon trip. Hence, it is always better to include hard cash in wedding lists. There is no shame at all in mentioning this as it can be helpful at a later stage.
