With advancement in the automotive technology, there is a tremendous demand for cars that are efficient in terms of power and fuel. Every time a buyer thinks of buying a new car in India, the first question that crosses the mind is what will be the mileage offered by the car and the thought is justified because of rising fuel costs. People are deeply worried about haunting price hike of petrol and diesel. So if cars are embedded with option like compressed natural gas (CNG), it shall suit the worried customer because of the lower running cost. The idea has been embraced by major car makers in the country who are all geared up to launch various fuel efficient cars to cater to the needs of the customer.

The consumers are shifting from petrol run cars to other alternatives like CNG and to capture the flourishing demand, various auto brands are now unveiling CNG technology to their best selling and popular car models. Maruti, the intelligent auto leader has already unveiled the option to integrate CNG in its five petrol models - Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Eeco and SX4.

One difficulty here would be for the first time car ...
... buyer or the layman who doesn’t know much about cars. How does one identify fuel efficient cars? Also how to compare between two fuel efficient cars? The good news is that the all new cars in India will now contain a fuel efficiency label. It shall be depicted by star mark on cars with a 5star being for the most fuel efficient car and going down in that order.

Few of the upcoming cars in India happen to be the big shots in the auto world who are viewing the Indian market with a keen eye. Chevrolet Sail, Skoda Yeti, Audi S6, Audi Q1, and Jaguar XJL happen to be just a few among the many who are making headlines in the car news market. However, their fuel efficiency shall be a determining factor in the success of these cars in the Indian market.

Technically developed and fuel efficient cars are the future of the car industry and we hope to see many more positive developments in the future from the car manufacturers in this area.
