Deer Valley is a small valley in the North West of the Phoenix city which is a large metropolitan in the state of Arizona. Air traffic at the Phoenix city is mainly handled by the Sky Harbor International Airport. Phoenix Deer Valley Airport is the reliever airport of the Sky Harbor. It is situated 15 miles in the North West of the Phoenix city. Deer valley airport is a public airport owned by the city of Phoenix and is situated 450 meters above sea level. The Total area of the airport is 914 acres which makes it the largest airport in the vicinity after the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. It is the 22nd busiest airport in the world and 14th busiest airport in USA and has the largest number of aircrafts movements. According to FAA records the about four hundred thousand aircraft operations per day. A large number of the operations are due to pilot training and military operations. However still the general aviation forms the about 65 percent of all the operations occurring here.

The air base can hold upto 1200 aircrafts at one time and thus provide efficient storage to both the private and public aircrafts. The airport is also used for the pilot training as other reliever airports; Mesa gateway airport, and Glendale Municipal Airport. The two most important Flight training Academies are Westwind School of Aeronautics and Transpac Aviation Academy. These Flight schools not only train pilots but also help the management in maintaining safety in the air port. A small gift shop is present in the tunnel from where the passengers can buy gifts for their family and friends. A small restaurant for dining has also been made to serve the passengers.
