ESP is a specific branch of English as a second language. ESP stands for English for Special Purposes and is designed to cater specifically to the needs for which a learner embarks to learn English. This field of study has developed in 1960s and has gained prime importance in recent years all over the world. It stresses on the fundamentals of English language like grammar, study skills, genre and discourse.
