Choosing The Right Garden Benches
Everyone that has a yard or a piece of property can establish places on that property that are beautiful, relaxing and inviting, by adding garden benches or picnic benches as seating. When you have a beautiful bed of flowers it is very inviting for you to place garden benches close enough that visitors can sit and enjoy the sight and the smells of the floral display. Deciding on the style of these seats is probably the hardest part of decorating with them.
You can easily see places in your garden that you could place garden benches or picnic benches and create a relaxing haven for you and your guests. The trouble is deciding whether to get the items constructed from wrought iron, plastics, or concrete.
There are several positive attributes assigned to each of the different materials that garden benches and picnic benches are crafted out of. The number one consideration for you will be the price of the items in question and the longevity of these items. You cannot compare an item that is meant to last three to four years with one that is designed to last twenty or more years without realising the longer lasting item ...
... will naturally be more expensive initially.
Concrete garden benches and picnic benches are designed to last forever, or darn close to it. The elements of wind, rain, summer heat and winter cold have little to no effect on these items. They are more uncomfortable than some of the other items constructed of more fragile materials. The biggest concern you will face with the concrete garden benches is that they require cleaning annually with a scrubbing brush and soapy water. This is a precaution best adhered to in order to protect the clothing of anyone that should sit on them.
Wrought iron garden benches add a beautiful touch to any landscape. They are elegant yet durable and the ones that have wooden seating are often very comfortable. You will of course need to clean these yearly and every two to three years you will need to reapply some protection sealer to the wooden seating in order to keep it looking at its best.
Seating that is built entirely out of wood is often the least expensive of the top three material choices. This is because the solid wood pieces are not going to last as long as the concrete or wrought iron versions. You can make the life of a wooden piece much longer by taking proper care to keep the water proofing and sealer adequately applied each year. This small amount of maintenance done once a year will make your pieces last twice as long.
Garden benches and picnic benches are designed to add beauty and comfort to the area in which you live. Choosing the materials that these items should be constructed from will depend on how long you want the piece to last, and the amount you have budgeted for.
