Combining experienced physicians with advanced technology, we can provide less invasive procedures, less pain, and shorter recovery times.
Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery
If you’re suffering from a knee condition, your physician may have prescribed a total knee replacement. However, there’s a replacement, specifically a minimally invasive procedure known as robotic-assisted partial knee resurfacing. The procedure uses the MAKOplasty® system which resurfaces the bone and uses an implant to alleviate arthritis symptoms. Robotic joint replacement surgery can be an excellent solution for many, but not all, patients. The MAKOplasty® robotic arm provides extremely precise control for knee procedures.
Hip Arthroscopy
Increasingly popular, Hip Arthroscopy provides patients with the option of a minimally invasive procedure that repairs the hip while preventing a total joint replacement. Hip Arthroscopy can help patients who are suffering from hip pain, joint tightness, muscle weakness, and loss of strength. During the procedure, the physician only needs a dime size incision at the hip joint to repair torn cartilage, remove loose pieces of muscle, tendon, or ligaments, and reshape bones.
Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Center
The goal of the Wake Forest Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Center department is to treat obstetric and adult brachial plexus injuries and peripheral nerve pathologies including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome and thoracic outlet syndrome. The treatment team includes reconstructive hand surgeons, neurologists, neurophysiologists, neuroradiologists, plus physical and occupational therapists.
Pediatric Orthopedicsn
The physicians and specialists in Wake Forest Baptist’s pediatric orthopedics department treat scoliosis, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, pediatric trauma, congenital deformities and trauma from sports medicine. There’s also a diagnostic Gait Lab where physicians can study a patient’s gait to help with diagnosis.
Sports Medicine
For active people, Wake Forest Baptist Health provides a full range of sports medicine services. Patients range from weekend warriors to professional athletes. The goal is to provide patients with personalized treatment plans plus rehabilitation and the prevention of future injuries.
