Hope Diamond remained in French monarchy and so its name became ‘Blue Diamond of the Crown’. Its current name Hope Diamond was given by Henry Philip Hope in 1824. Before it was donated to Smithsonian Institution by Harry Winston in 1958, it went from family to family for years.

Loose Blue Diamonds Stones are priced around 560,000 US dollars per carat. Furthermore its value increases with intensity and purity of colour. Since Blue diamonds are the rarest and the most diamonds, they are more in demand too.
