This ancient rock shelter, 4000 feet up the mountain near Ambalavayal, is famous for the rock art depicting human and animal carvings. This protected monument is a must visit and is reached by a steep flight of steps.
For the religiously zealous, Wayanad packages to the Ananthanatha Swamy Temple, popularly referred to as the Jain Temple, the Tirunelli Temple, Papanasini, Valliyoorkavu Temple, Sita Lava Kusha Temple, Thrissilery Shiva Temple and the Pallikkunnu Church is a must.
The nearest airport is the Karipur international airport in Kozhikode and the nearest railway station to Wayanad is the Kozhikode railway station.
