Up to 50 gigabytes of information can be stored in a dual layer Blu-ray disc which is six times that of a dual layer DVD's capacity.

Besides DVD, some duplicators also accommodate VHS and CD duplication as well as replication. Some also offer both duplicating services and products for their clients' convenience.

DVD and CD duplication can be done in-house if the company has the necessary equipment or outsourced to a third party duplicator. With an in-house duplication, a company has control over the video production. The only downside is that it has to invest in the duplication equipment which could be quite costly.

The future

Many experts in this field believe there's truly a bright future for DVD duplication and videographers. Proof of this is the mushrooming of copy shops despite the stiff competition with photocopiers and printers.
