Any devoted parent takes the care of their children’s health and wellbeing seriously and that’s why it can be complicated choosing the right Immunisations for your little ones. Loving parents want their children protected from diseases like Measles, Mumps and Rubella but the credibility of the single MMR jab was called into question back in the 1990s by Dr Andrew Wakefield who suggested Immunisations of this nature were strongly linked to autism and bowel problems.
The findings of this doctor have since been discredited but a number of parents are still worried about giving their children single MMR Immunisations. In fact, there are some indications that Immunisations haven’t been given to children because parents are still anxious about the combined MMR jab.
Where’s the evidence?
In 2011 reported cases of measles outbreaks rose by ten times the amount of the previous year. Were parents refusing to take their children for MMR jabs, did they really mistrust the Immunisations that much? There seems to be some indication that the measles virus was being brought into the country from Europe where ...
... outbreaks were common in 2011 and children that hadn’t had the proper Immunisations were being severely affected.
Why didn’t caring parents take their children to have the Immunisations? They didn’t trust them it’s as simple as that. People still believe the MMR Immunisations aren’t safe and because of that they have boycotted the single jab.
Are you happy to run the gauntlet?
The thing is; Dr Wakefield’s thoughts on MMR Immunisations sent panic waves through the country. People fail to see that clinics who give out the Immunisations have done so safely without any side effects to patients for numerous years.
Some parents fail to realise that by preventing their children from having the Immunisations they are putting their child’s life in greater danger. One in 15 cases of measles results in eye infections and pneumonia, one in a thousand cases results in death.
Think carefully if you decide to take the stance against MMR Immunications, cases of measles are on the rise at the moment and it could be your child that contracts it next.
