There are several small and large businesses in Australia and all of them have one thing in common: their employees. The small organisations, consisting of a few people, do not have funds to support the services of an HR department, while in extremely large organisations; the HR department is constantly loaded with work. One solution for both of these organisations is outsourcing their HR requirements and functions. Several companies offer their services to provide you with the best-in-class HR solutions and help you fulfil your HR requirements. Two distinct services that these HR consultants provide are enterprise agreement and HR reporting.

What is an Enterprise Agreement?

An enterprise agreement is basically an agreement made between the employees and employers reached by proper negotiations between both parties concerned, sometimes in the presence of a third neutral mediator. The negotiations take place between the employers and employees or their representatives (union representatives) and a collective decision is taken on factors regarding the workplace and work environment. This agreement cannot defy the ...
... already existing state laws on Occupational Health & Safety, Workers Remunerations, Discrimination Laws, Child Labour, Equal Opportunities, Training and Development, etc. In fact, the agreement should be such that it assists the existing norms and standards and makes them better. For the agreement to come into effect, voting is conducted amongst the majority of the employees. This new system has come into effect after the New Fair Work Act was implemented in July 2009 in Australia. Majority of the workplaces have accepted and implemented this new system.

But for small organisations, that don’t have an HR department, this type of enterprise agreement can only be drawn up with the help of external HR consultants. Similarly, this is a very small but significant part of creating a cordial work environment and in large organisations the HR team cannot go to every employee and ask them their opinion about the agreement. That is why many a times they outsource this agreement work to other consultants, so that they may concentrate on bigger issues like recruitments, hiring, attrition, etc.

What are HR Reporting?

On an annual basis, the Australian government asks organisations to submit several reports on their financial data, current employees, their salaries and compensations, taxes paid, investments, any unhealthy or questionable incidents at the workplace, business planning, etc. These reports require a lot of precious time to generate. Especially, if an unfortunate incident has taken place in the organisation, HR reporting of such events has to be done carefully as the organisation’s reputation is on the line. Many new organisations are also not familiar with the reporting process or don’t have significant knowledge of the procedures to follow. So for such companies, outsourcing this work is the best and ideal option. This can ensure that they have an expert consultant to guide them through the process, help them understand each and every aspect and complete the entire reporting process in a timely manner.

Enterprise agreement and HR reporting are two small but significant aspects of the HR management department in any organisation. To save small organisations on funds and help larger ones concentrate on bigger issues, it is best to outsource these aspects to an expert external consultant.
