Wedding dress fashion is constantly changing, and there's a chance to see how it's evolved over the last few decades.

Wedding dress fashion is constantly changing, and there's a chance to see how it's evolved over the last few decades.
The Aiken Christian Women's Network is holding an event in which several dresses from both the 19th and 20th century will be displayed and modeled at its "cheap wedding dresses through the Ages" event held later this month.
Chairman Pam Morin said the Aiken County Historical Museum, Charlotte's Downtown Fashions and Audrea's Consignment Formal Wear are participating in the event.
Morin said this is typically a popular time for weddings, and the group thought it would be fun and educational to showcase bridal gowns from different time periods.
The earliest dress that will be modeled is from the 1920s. The rest of the dresses that will be worn by models derive from the 1970s to what's popular now.
Several older dresses and others that are too delicate to wear will be on display, including some from the 1800s.

... entertainment will be provided by local vocalist Vicki Rutland.
The guest speaker of this event will be Rose Lewis from Stonecroft Ministries, an international Christian women's ministry. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
"Wedding Dresses through the Ages" will be held at the Houndslake Country Club, 901 Houndslake Drive, on June 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Admission is $14 and may be paid at the door, but reservations are required and must be made by Thursday by emailing Morin at morinpam@aol.com or by calling 522-6884.
