A Girl's Guide To Music Festival Camping

Music festivals are growing more and more popular all over the world, from long-time classics to newer and more intimate events. Music lovers count down all year until they get the chance to devote an entire weekend to their favorite performers. And now, more and more festivals are inviting attendees to camp on festival grounds, allowing them to be in the center of all the action. This is no trying feat for outdoor enthusiasts. But if you're not a fan of roughing it outside, camping can seem very intimidating. Follow these helpful tips to make camp life as smooth as possible.
• Bring an easy tent: If you have a burly man to help set up your tent, your tent problems are solved. But if you're attempting it solo, it is imperative that you bring a simple tent. From Kelty tents to Coleman tents, there are tons to choose from. Pick one that requires few steps, snaps into place and is easily staked to the ground. You don't want to waste half a day trying to configure your tent, nor do you want it to blow away while you're enjoying the festival.

• Bring an air mattress: This could mean the difference between a good night's rest and waking up with a back ache. If you're used the cushy comfort of a plush bed at home, you will probably not adjust well to sleeping on top of uneven grass or hard earth. An affordable queen air mattress will fit comfortably inside a 4-person tent or larger. This may seem like an extra expense, but it will prove to be a worthy investment.
• Shower early or late: Showering is often the issue of greatest concern amongst high-maintenance campers. Most music festivals offer comfortable showers throughout the campgrounds, but there is always a huge line. Avoid the morning rush for showers by waking up to shower extra early—as soon as the showers open—or waiting until late in the evening, while everyone else is inside the festival. If you are turned off by the idea of public showers, consider investing in a portable shower, designed similar to a standing tent, which can be purchased at sporting goods stores.
• Bring shampoo spray: If you just can't find the time to wait in line for a hot shower, keep your hair clean with shampoo spray. A variety of hair product manufacturers sell dry shampoo spray. These products are affordable and can be found at your local drug store.
• Bring baby wipes: Most festivals are located in an area with scorching daytime heat. Prevent body odor and keep clean with a pack of baby wipes. Baby wipes are extremely handy. You can use them in the portable bathrooms, you can use them for a quick freshening up, and you can use them to wipe down surfaces you may need to touch.
• Wear sunglasses: The type of heat you'll be in will surely melt the makeup off your face. So forget reapplying useless makeup. If you're feeling self-conscious, hide your make-up free face behind a pair of oversized glasses. This way your skin can breathe and you'll also be protected from the intense UV rays.
