Birmingham In England
Birmingham is the second largest city of Britain with a population that stand only after London. Birmingham is located at the west midlands and formed the centre of attraction during the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution formed the backbone of the city and provided it with the wealth that it owes currently. The trading activities lead to the strengthening of the city which grew in popularity. The massive canal network of Birmingham makes it very easy to access different corners of the city. Majority of the parts of the city was destroyed during the Second World War but since 1990's the city has undergone substantial change. Most of the post war buildings have been replaced by tall and sparkling shopping malls and restaurants.
Today, majority of the city has been transformed into pedestrian walkways while the canals have been cleaned. The city council has been credited for the recent transformation of the city which now regains back its old industrial heritage along with a forward looking and modern approach.

Aston Hall: The mansion was built in between the period 1618 to 1635 and showcases some enchanting artworks and period rooms. The cannon damaged section of the mansion is still available for viewing. No entrance fee is charged by the tourists while visiting the mansion.
Sarehole Mill: This is one of the fifty water mills which existing all over Birmingham once upon a time. The mill was built in 1765 and was used for making buttons and metal rolling.
Birmingham botanical garden and glasshouse: This is place which cannot be given a miss by the plant lovers. The garden showcases thousands of plants which can be viewed. In addition to the plants at display the garden also arranges workshops throughout the year which can be engaged in by the tourists.
National Sea Life Centre: This is one of the largest sea life centres present at Birmingham and showcases some magnificent aquatic animals. The wide range of aquatic animals includes otters, rays, sea horses, turtles and piranhas.
The regular feeding demonstrations attract more and more tourists towards the centre.
Birmingham Central Mosque: Situated at 180 Belgrave Middleway, Birmingham Central Mosque was built in 1969 and was the second mosque of UK. The mosque can accommodate as much as 2500 people at a time which is extended more during occasions like Eid. The tourists who want to visit this place are advised to get bookings atleast 2 weeks ahead of time.
The Electric Cinema: This is the oldest cinema of UK which started in 1909. The cinema opens its door exactly 30 minutes before the movie starts and is popular for its Art Deco interiors, cocktail bar and home baking. Some of the features which have been recently added include waiter services and sofa seating. The cinema is also the best in terms of independent and mainstream cinema.
