The three systems of sprinkler heads are:
1.Spray System
- Disperses about 1.5 to 1.7 inches of water per hour in a short period of time.
- Suitable for small size lawns and highly absorbent soils which need constant watering.
- Inappropriate for clay soil because it does not absorb fast and there is a high tendency of creating puddles of water within or at the ends of the lawn areas.
- Not good for lawns that are uneven or sloping due to its tendency to just run off at the end of your lawn which defeats the purpose.
2.Rotor System
- The water dispersal is just about 0.6 to .08 inches per hour which is comparatively slower than the spray sprinkler system DIY.
- Appropriate for large lawns because it waters the whole lawn area equally.
- This is ideal for clay soiled lawns because of its relatively slower pace of water dispersal.
3.Dip System
- The dispersal rate of water is highly changeable which is about 0.05 - 24 gallons per hour.
- This is not ideal for lawns because of its design which is to water specific pots and garden sections.
