Myozyme, a drug made to treat Pompe, a disease that disables the heart and skeletal muscles is at number 7. While ACTH, a medicine for spasms and seizures that affect infants is at number 6. The costs of both medicines can reach up to $300,000 a year.
Now, if your doctor prescribed you Folotyn, be ready to spend around $30,000 per month. Such high cost made in number 5 in the list. Patients with hereditary angioedema are likely using Cinryze. An approximate $350,000 per year placed it at the number 4 spot. On the other hand, Naglazyme and Elaprase holding the number 3 and number 2 spots require patients to pay as much as $375,000 per year. Holding the top spot is Soliris, a treatment for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, a rare blood disease. Americans pay about $409,500 a year for this.
