Kerala, acknowledged everywhere as "God’s Own Country" is profusely gifted with natural beauty. Resting in the southern most corner of India, Kerala is a land of natural opulence. Engrossed in luxuriant green surroundings, Kerala attracts visitors from the whole world with its numerous backwaters, lagoons, beaches, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, hill stations, wildlife parks and rich cultural heritage.

Kerala got its name from the numerous lofty coconut palms (known as 'Keram' in local language) found all over in the state. The land of Keram came to be known as Keralam (Kerala).

Tiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), the capital city of Kerala, has a plethora of tourist destinations around it. The most familiar tourist attractions in this part of Kerala are the Kovalam beach, Shankhumukham and Varkala beaches and the Padmanabha Swamy Temple among others.

Kochi (Cochin), the commercial capital of Kerala is known for its lagoons, beaches and historical monuments. The Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi, Shopping at Mattanchery and Jew Street, Hill Palace Museum and Marine Drive are the major draws in this part of ...
... Kerala.

The most preferred tourist destinations of Kerala is without doubt its backwaters, centered in the Alapuzha and Kottayam districts. Cruise on houseboats, the annual boat races and Kumarakom beckons tourists to Kerala. The Vemband and Punnamada lakes are popular for houseboat cruises on serene waters.

Munnar and Wayanad are the popular Hill stations of Kerala that attracts tourists from far and near. Snuggled in the lush green Western Ghats, these hill stations are the pride of Kerala. These hill stations are luxuriant with tea plantations, spices, waterfalls and wildlife.

Kerala's wildlife can be enjoyed at Periyar Tiger Reserve (better known as Thekkady), Parambikkulam and Muthanga wildlife sanctuaries. The Kuruva Island and Edakkal caves provide ample trekking opportunities.

Kerala is home to many historical forts like the Bakel fort, Kannur fort, Palakkad fort and Wayanad fort among others. History was re-written when Vasco Da Gama first landed at Kappad, a sleepy coastal village near Kozhikode in Kerala.

Kerala, being a hot spot tourist destination is replete with world class accommodation. Kerala Hotels can be found all over the state, catering to the needs of the numerous visitors to this beautiful land. Kerala Hotels belong to various categories like budget, deluxe, premium, luxury as well as homestays. The budget class Kerala Hotels are found in all nooks and corners of the state. But luxurious Kerala Hotels are more or less confined to major towns and big cities.

Homestays are one of the most popular categories of Kerala Hotels at the present time. They aim to give the guest a firsthand experience of the local lifestyle. Kerala Hotels are often reasonably priced and easily accessible.
