Fishing charters offer an unparalleled experience. Spending the day under the guidance and tutelage of an all-knowing captain who anchors just where the fish are, never fails to please an experienced angler or a novice fisherman. Even for the uninterested, it is an experience that they will never forget. However, to forever relish the fishing expedition, there are four things that you must always have. Let’s list them and see why every angler must have them.

Sunglasses

Those who have been out in a boat before might have an idea on how bright the sun gets. In the open waters, the sun seems to shine on a whole new level. There are no trees, buildings or any other structure to keep out its radiance. This is nothing short of blinding. Factor in the fact that sun rays do bounce off the water and the need for sunglasses becomes clear during a fishing trip. Forget them and you are ...
... in trouble. Most Columbia River fishing charters, for example have them on board, but do not count on it. It is always safe to bring your own pair.

Camera

If the fishing gods smile down at you, you might catch a big one. This sort of catch is not for keeps, and most of the time, you end up returning it to the water. Every bone in your body might scream out for you to keep it, but for reasons and laws that govern fishing, it has to go back to the water. Now how are you going to prove to your buddies at work that over the weekend you caught a humongous swordfish? Easy, just take a picture of you and your catch. To do this, a camera is needed, obviously. So why not bring one with you during the trip? There are countless other moments that need to be immortalized on film during fishing charters and cameras, especially the water proof ones come in handy.

Sun Block

Earlier on, we saw that the sun takes a whole new brightness in the open waters. It shines with radiance unknown to many, and there is nowhere an angler to hide. Sun block always comes to the rescue, if you want to avoid those nasty sun burns afterwards. Never underestimate how quickly the sun can burn your skin. Get a good sun block and use it regularly. Almost all fishing charters have some on board, but again, you can never be too sure. SO pack some sun block if you plan to enjoy the fishing while out in the open waters.

Water

I know what most people are thinking. We are going in the water, so why should I bring in more water? Well, consider the fact that this water is not fit for human consumption. It is either too salty or unfit for human consumption. Most people hide behind fishing charters to load up on their favorite adult beverages. Most captains frown on this practice, making it necessary to first of all ascertain if it is okay to load a cooler full of adult beverages. Irrespective of the drinking policy on board Washington fishing charters, having enough water to replenish the body is necessary. With the sun beating down on anglers mercilessly, dehydration is a real threat during fishing charters.
