Hydroponic systems come in a huge range of types and sizes. You can buy systems designed for just 2 to 4 plants to systems that can be scaled up to grow literally hundreds of plants. Some systems only require nutrient rich water, whilst others need an inert medium such as gravel, mineral wool, expanded clay or coconut husks as well.

It does not matter how much space you have or where that space is there is a hydroponic system available to fit that place and that environment. They are suitable for use by home growers as well as commercial growers.

Buying Your First Hydroponic Systems

When you are buying your first system, it makes sense to start slowly. Buying anything that costs too much or takes up too much space will just put you off. Starting with a small system allows you to learn what you need to know by looking after just a few plants. The fact that it is not too time consuming makes it easy to keep up with what needs to be done and to be successful. Growing plants using hydroponics is not complicated, but like with all things it takes a little time to become proficient at it.

Start with plants ...
... you really want to grow, so that you do not lose interest halfway through. Salads are the perfect plants for home growers to start with. However, you can also grow flowers and start off trees using hydroponics.
