Lot of research has been done on people who have undergone this eye surgery treatment. Laser surgery is for vision correction that works to effectively reshape eye components for perfect vision. A special Laser is used to reshape the cornea to restore near normal vision. The entire procedure is very fast less than 15 minutes and is also painless.

There are two ways of getting laser eye surgery done.

1. Surface Treatment – also known as PRK, Custom Surface, ASA or Lasek
2. Lasik – also known as Lamellar Surgery

There are other alternatives to Laser Eye Procedures:

Conductive Keratoplasty uses radio-frequency energy for corneal shaping.
Refractive Lens Exchange replaces your eye's natural lens.
Implantable Lenses (phakic IOLs) avoid removing corneal tissue.

Before the surgery, there will be discussion with a coordinator about what to expect during and after the procedure. First of all your ophthalmologist will examine your eyes to check if they are suitable for this laser eye surgery or not. This eye procedure is similar in nature to a normal eye examination. There will be initial tests conducted such as corneal thickness, refraction, corneal mapping and pupil dilation. Once the initial evaluation is done and you’re fit for the surgery, you will meet the surgeon and resolve a queries if you may have, then procedure will be started once the appointment is fixed. From the first day after the procedure a lot of patients experience the clarity of vision they wanted. After the procedure the flap is then replaced back to finish the laser eye surgery procedure.

Though there are so many laser eye surgery procedures available nowadays allowing people to choose a particular surgery procedure, still but this is the most common and general way of performing laser eye surgery.
