India has gained recognition throughout the world over the years. It is now a popular destination for students ,travellers and among those who seek spirituality. India has something to offer to each of her visitors. She has great cultural and geographical diversity. The historical sites,beaches,festivities,cultures,landscapes, mountain retreats present a wonderful bunch of activities for all its visitors.
The northern part of the country attracts visitors to witness the historical remains and people with interest in adventure can enjoy trekking in the Himalayas.There are many religious destinations in the Northern part of the country for those with spiritual inclinations. The Chardham-Gangotri,Yamunotri,Kedarnath and Badrinath,Golden temple at Amritsar,the temples in Varanasi ,Rishikesh and Hardwar are only a few of those. The southern part of the country beckons the visitors with its exotic beaches,backwaters,temples with historical significance etc. The eastern part as well as the western parts of the country too has dense tropical forests that promotes adventure activities. ... and the warmth of the people and the inherent spiritual force attracts a large number of tourists from different parts of the world. The Taj Mahal,red fort,Qutb Minar are a few of those which deserve a special mention.
The villages of India with its simple life,pure air,vast famlands,mudhouses,children running barefoot is an eye-opener for tourists from the developed part the world. The contentment seen in villagers and their faith and trust in the Almighty power leaves the visitor charmed. As India is growing into a power to reckon with the visitors can feel the development and the progress made in the country over the past few years. The presence of multinational companies and the encouragement provided by the government has made this possible.
India is a great destination for the foodies. The cuisine is varied as are the languages spoken in the country. The spicy food , the warm caring smiles is something that would be cherished by the visistors. Visitors interested in the heritage of the country would more often than not try to extend their stay to be one with it. The monuments,temples with its carvings,sculptures etc are an ever-green attraction for art lovers.The sixth century paintings at Ajanta caves near Aurangabad in Maharashtra deserve special mention. People interested in learning about Buddhism find a visit to the Mahabodhi temple,a Buddhist shrine very attractive. It is a world heritage site of UNESCO. It is situated in Bihar. The Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library is the oldest library in India and this too is located in Bihar. The visitors interested in spirituality,religion art,and culture would find a visit to Orissa enriching. Buddhist followers are quite active and the rock edicts,stupas,viharas,chaityas,rock edicts of Ashoka are quite well maintained. The Hindu temples like Jagannath temple in Puri, Sun temple in Konark and the Leaning temple of Huma are some of the places which the religious minded would like to pay a visit. The tribal communities with their handicrafts ,various dance forms ,junglr products and their unique life style have grabbed the attention of many. They have contributed to the multilingual and multicultural characteristics of the state. To summarize travellers to India tour get enchanted and qoute one of them “India sort of gets under your skin and you want to do it again and again.”
