Jaipur - A Royal Affair
Jaipur is a beautiful Indian city and the capital of the dessert state of Rajasthan. It is also the largest city of the state. Jaipur is an extremely popular tourist destination of India featuring in the premium 'Golden Triangle' of the Indian tourism industry, the other two cities being Delhi and Agra. The city is widely renowned for its royal connect which can be clearly seen among the various opulent palaces, magnificent fortress and various other royal architectures of the region. Jaipur offers tourists to catch a glimpse of Indian royal splendor and grandeur, witness their culture and tradition and also taste their hospitality.
Fondly referred to as the Pink City owing to the distinctly colored city walls, Jaipur has an interesting history to it, which adds to the character and depth of the region. Jaipur was founded in 1727 as the first planned city of India by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is also named of the region. The city served as the bastion of the Rajput Empire for several centuries. In the year 1876, the entire city was drenched in the trademark terracotta pink color to resemble the Mughal architecture ...

Jaipur is home to plenty of royal architectures from the grand palaces, forts to royal gardens and much more, which makes for interesting sightseeing. Some of the popular tourist attractions of Jaipur include the Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar. Gaitore, Ram Niwas Gardens, Vidyadhar Garden, Sisodia Rani Palace and Garden, Galtaji, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and much more. A trip to the local markets is also a must without which a trip to Jaipur can never be complete. The markets of the region are renowned for its colorful turbans, fabrics, bangles, rajais and various local handicrafts.
While in Jaipur a must do is catch a performance of the puppets, cultural songs and dances organized every evening by various resorts and hotels of the region. Another must do is enjoying an elephant or camel ride, not to forget gorging on the local culinary delights like the dal batti churma, laal maans, safed maans, etc.
