Agra is a chaotic Indian city located in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city is home to the widely renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site the ‘Taj Mahal’. The city is an extremely popular tourist destination of India, hosting nearly millions of tourists from all corners of the globe annually. The city forms an integral part of the ‘Golden Triangle’ of the Indian tourism industry, the other two cities being Delhi and Jaipur. The city home to two other UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri radiates with a strange old world charm that mesmerizes tourists making them return to the region over and over again.

Agra being home of the grandest symbol of eternal love, acts as a pilgrimage site for the many love struck couples both old and new. In addition to that there are plenty of other interesting tourist attractions present in the region from the various gardens to historical sites like Swami Bagh, Ram Bagh, Mehtab Bagh, balkeshwar Temple, Kailash Temple, Sikandra, Itmad - Ud - Daulah’s Tomb, Jama Masjid, Chini Ka Roza and more. The local markets of the region are also a major attraction of the region and are renowned for its leather goods, perfumes, bangles and various local handicrafts.

Along with the sightseeing and shopping in Agra a must do in the region is to gorge on the renowned local sweet ‘petha’ and the spicy and tangy Indian chats and various other snacks. Agra grandly observes the ‘Taj Mahotasav’ wherein it holds several exhibitions, cultural songs and dance performances giving the entire region a very festive look and as such is one of the best times to visit the region. There are also plenty of hotels and resorts in Agra catering to the accommodation needs of the myriad of travelers visiting the region.
