Speeding will take place when an individual is driving over the accepted legal speed limit on any types of road. It is true that the speed limits vary between roads and any change in speed limit on a road is requisite by law to have a sign demonstrating a change in the speed limit. For example, if someone is driving on a speed of 60mph into an area where the speed limit is 30mph, there should be a sign clearly stating this change. If an individual caught speeding will have to go through many penalties for speeding offences but all will depend on the condition that time and the seriousness of the speeding offence.

Probable Penalties for Speeding

Suppose if you are caught in speeding offence, you will definitely be issued a notice of intended punishment or NIP. If you are caught speeding by a police officer you will either receive a verbal NIP or you will have 14 days to serve the NIP. If you caught speeding by a speed camera then you will receive a NIP through the post. In terms of receiving of NIP, you are given a total of 28 days in which to have gives the so cause. For any reason, if you fail to reply them will result in gaining 6 points on your license and a fine of up to £1000. If you do reply to the NIP within the 28 days you will only get the usual punishment of 3 points on your license and a £60 fine.
