Hounslow is a pleasant suburban development to the west of London. The small village was originally centred around the Holy Trinity Priory, which was founded in 1211, and grew into a larger town with regular markets. Although the Priory was later dissolved in 1539, Hounslow continued to grow into the Borough it is today. In the capital you’ll find that most people don’t know their neighbours, hurry down busy streets with their heads down and dodge traffic as they rush to work. Things are different in suburbs like Hounslow; you can walk your children to school without being bowled over, knock on a neighbour’s door to borrow a cup of sugar or ask them to watch the kids while you pop to the shop. It’s a very different environment to central London, despite the proximity.
