There are various types of scales and all of them are used for measuring. Young students use scales to measure lengths of sides in geometrical figures. Then there are weighing scales on which one can measure weights of objects. The earliest and the most common type of scale is the one having a beam on which two pans hang at its extremities. The object to be weighed is placed on one pan and known standard weights are placed on the other. More weights are placed or removed till the beam becomes horizontal. The weights placed on the pan are counted to know the weight of the object. Now there are other modern types of scales using different technologies to determine weight. These scales are primarily meant for weighing but they can be adapted to count as well. These scales are called counting scales.

The counting scales are of great help in the factories where sometimes a large number of small parts are to be counted. These parts are to be counted to pay their cost or to know if there is sufficient number of them in the stock. Manual counting can be wearisome and monotonous; and there will always be a possibility of errors ...
... creeping in. Counting scales make the job easier and agreeable. All the items to be counted are placed on the platform of the scale in bulk and the weight of a single item weighed separately is fed in the scale. The weighing scale weighs the whole lot, divides the total weight by the weight of a single item and gives you the number of items. In a digital scale the number is shown on a display.

The counting scales have to be very accurate and sensitive. They should be able to correctly respond even if a single item is added or removed. There are NTEP counting scales which are tested and certified for their accuracy and reliability by an independent authority. You will find a different types of counting scales in the market. You can also go online for selecting them as you can get all the relevant information on a number of websites. You can know more about counting scales at www.buyfloorscale.com.
