Worldwide economic competition.
Three words that have been bantered around the political circles for decades. From 1945 to mid 1990's American politicians have used this type of aphorism to appease less competitive nations and economies knowing that the US economy and manufacturing prowess kept the scales of worldwide competition tilted and biased towards the USA.
The fuel for American politics has been money, period. During the prosperous years, there was no sustained pressure on the average American to compete for energy, education, and employment with the rest of the world. Corporate America provided the appropriate pressure, bias and funding to ensure the corporate economic machine continued to churn, remain dominant and exercised the status-quo.
Take a look at the US auto manufacturing as an example.
At one time GM had 60% market share in the United States. Today it is sliding towards a mere 20%. General Motors, the once mighty giant, cannot even compete on its own turf! This company saw the competitive changes 30 years ago, however, arrogance and corporate ...
... greed blinded the executives to react to this new economic threat. The result: tens of thousands of American jobs lost, most of them manufacturing positions displaced to third world countries.
Take a look at Exxon. Here is an American founded company that continues to generate huge profits. In 2001 Exxon's annual net income was $15B. Year 2007 was over $40B! That is more than $1300 per second in 2007.
It is true, the escalating competition from India and China is driving the energy prices higher but the Corporate Machine needs to quench it's insatiable thirst for maximum profits.
Let's play CEO for a moment. You earn over $45M per year. You are shielded from any personal economic pressures. You keep an audience with the rich, elite and powerful. It is your job to open new markets and increase profits. Let's say, as an example, there was an opportunity to realize huge profits for years to come by simply selling and channeling more of your energy product to growing nations who were willing to adjust or eliminate environmental protection policies and regulations in order to significantly reduce your cost. In exchange, your company sells product to this new growing consumer at reduced costs and at the same time benefits by squeezing the American economy for more profits.
It would be a perfect situation to defend against the outrage and controversy of realizing huge profits and higher American costs by employing plausible deniability of market manipulation and planting the idea of greater competition due to the laws of supply and demand.
This corporate behavior will never change. You are simply a consumer in a vast sea of consumers. There is no loyalty, no patriotism, no contract for America when it comes to corporate profits. That is the American free market economy way.
Yet, you can see the American economic security paradigm changing. You can feel the personal direct pressure and angst on energy, education and worldwide economical pressure.
It may be time, for the American consumer who has been affected by job attrition, healthcare losses and corporate abandonment to leverage their American ingenuities into the new internet economy. You can compete on your own terms. You can guide and control your own future. You can set you own realistic business expectations and not rely on an executive who earns over $123K per day to relate to you and your financial needs.
If you have an idea for an internet business we can teach you the essentials of e-commerce, support your web business needs and sustain your business without spending an arm and a leg.
Aren't you tired of your present situation? Change it! If you don't, you can be assured the gentlemen earning $123K per day will continue to change your and your family's economic situation.
