According to a survey, most Indian professionals are not happy with their present job profile. They are constantly in search of new jobs and fresh career openings. This survey was conducted in 30 nations and more that 150,000 professional participated. This included about 6000 professionals from India across various sectors. Kelly Services, a leading firm providing global workforce solutions, did this unique survey.

The survey revealed interesting facts about the Indian employees. The professionals are not satisfied with current profiles. They are always on the lookout for new career opportunities. Most of them are dissatisfied with their present responsibilities and work. Those professionals who are happy with the present work are ready for more exposure.

The managing director of Kelly services, Kamal Karanth, gave the reason for such a tendency of job change. Professionals have experienced great economic uncertainty, which makes them restless about the career. The thought about future career makes the professionals go for frequent job changes. Besides, the job changing habit, this survey also examined various factors like the influence of persons in their career choices, role of potential employers and the usage of social media. These factors play an important role in decisions for new jobs.

This survey pointed that about 30% Indians are always ready to quit. Another 60% is always in the willing stage to quit the current job after a year of employment. Despite the high tendency to quit, this survey came out with an interesting result. About 68% Indian professionals are happy in their present jobs. This is the highest total among the professionals interviewed in 30 nations.

Asked the professionals about their current employment, most of them replied that their new job provides them with sense of meaning. The sense of meaning means that most of the employees feels that its gives them ability to excel in whatever they are doing.

For changing new jobs, the two chief reasons are personal growth and new responsibilities. These two are important ones. Increased compensation and other benefits come in next. The job changes made by professionals make use of the social media tools. Whether knowing about the prospective employer or about the workplace environment, social media plays an important role. More than half of professionals interviewed in the survey said that social media plays a pivotal role in jobs changes.

The next big question is when the right time to change job. Changing jobs but plan your exit carefully. Never plan to leave before you annual bonus. It is not sensible to quit changing without taking your bonus. You have worked very hard and this is something you deserve. It is always advisable to change job after the annual appraisal. The months of May-June seems to be the perfect timing for job changes. Moreover, when changing a job, never make money the sole reason for change.
