It is no secret that regular exercise and a healthy diet are the important factors that contribute to the well-being of a person. Exercise offers a multitude of benefits to our health. It strengthens the immune system and keeps away various chronic diseases and other health depriving ones like diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure. As we all know, obesity is one of the commonest health problems today. Whatever may be the cause of obesity, it can be controlled only by doing regular exercises. There is no other short cut to weight loss that can be more natural than the physical workouts. With the alarming increase in the number of children that have obesity it has become more important that we should follow a regular workout pattern to stay away from obesity and other related health problems. If you are looking to bring in more flexibility to your muscles then all you need to do is some simple stretching and bending exercise. The advantage of doing these exercises is that it prevents muscle soreness and cramps and results in improved blood circulation to various parts of the body. By standing or sitting in a straight posture (as instructed by your exercise guru) you can also strengthen your joints. However, unlike weight lifting exercises the flexibility exercises are a bit difficult to learn. But once you learn them you will realize how much they are beneficial to your health. When you do Yoga you develop good breathing habits and thus prolong your life by a few more years.

Aerobic Exercise

Aerobic exercises are best suited for people who want to lose weight. Examples of these exercises are walking, jogging, running, swimming, skipping, dancing and cycling. When you do aerobic exercises besides losing weight you also get to strengthen the endurance of your heart as these activities involve more intake of oxygen. By sweating, you get to get rid of the toxic impurities form your body. The intensity of aerobic exercises range from low (eg. walking) to moderate (eg. jogging) to high (eg. running). These exercises are suitable people of all age groups. All you need to is a good 40-minute drilling session everyday to achieve good results.

Anaerobic Exercise

These are the weight-lifting exercises that the professional body builders do in the gym. The intensity of the workouts is usually higher. The anaerobic exercises help build a strong muscular system and gain more strength. Examples of anaerobic exercises include lifting weights like dumbbells and barbells, pushups, pull-ups etc. However, for anybody who is into body building, sticking to a protein-rich diet is very important. The anaerobic exercises are preceded and succeeded by minor warm-up and warm-down sessions to minimize the risk of cardio vascular diseases.

There isn’t a fixed time or place to do exercise. Even stretching is an exercise that you can do anywhere. For people who wish to stay fit and healthy it is important to realize the importance of exercise in life and start following a fixed exercise routine.
