In botany, the stipe is the name given to the stem of the palm trees , and by extension that of the ferns arborescent. The stipe, which is not a real trunk, is mainly characterized by the absence of growth in thickness, contrary to the trunk of the tree of dicots. Its diameter is constant foot of the palm to the terminal cluster of leaves. It can however sometimes finding irregularities in the diameter, but are explained by climatic variations which might affect the growth of the tree. Stipe does not branch, except in rare exceptions. Have meristematic tissue only at the upper end of the stem. The surface of the stem is adorned by losangicas impressions left by the base characteristics of the petioles of the leaves.

Is called stipule to a structure, usually laminar, which is formed on each side of the leaf base of a Traqueofita . Usually located one on each side of the base of the blade , sometimes more. They are usually asymmetric and, in a sense, are mirror images of each other. Stipules may be:
free or side : do not adhere to the petiole , are linked only to the stem;
adnatas , petiole or vaginal : welded ...
... to the petiole for a distance more or less long;
interpeciolares or cauline , two stipules of opposite leaves are welded at their point of contact;
intrapetiolar or axillary , two stipules of the same sheet are welded above the petiole ;
opositifolias or opposite : two stipules of the same sheet are welded round by the side opposite the petiole;
ambiguous : are welded to the stem and petiole (a term rarely used);
sheathing : it is the same as ocrea (see).
Stipules foliaceous organs may appear as, spines, glands, hair, scales. Its presence is related to the anatomy of the node which supports the sheet .
The adjectives used to refer to the stipules are:
estipuláceo : An organ that resembles or reminds the stipules;
provided , that has stipules;
provide : own or on the stipules, p. for example., stipulate spine ;
estipulífero : having stipules.
The structures that mimic stipules at the bases of the leaflets are called stipels (eg. in the genus Thalictrum or in some Fabaceae . In classical works have been called estipulilla or estipulita , now in disuse.

In botany , a Eterio is a thickened, fleshy floral receptacle, become fruit , on which is inserted a large amount of achenes . It is for this reason is also considered a poliaquenio . Apocárpicas flowers come from (with carpels independent they form an ovary).
The clearest example of Eterio is the strawberry or strawberry, but there are less extreme as the fruits of the genus Ranunculus .

The peel (from Latin "foliate", "on pages ") means the removal or loss of leaves of a plant . It is used both to describe the loss or falling leaves as a natural part of life cycle (as is the case of deciduous tree that loses its leaves in autumn ) or due to trauma or external cause (such as dehydration , infestation of worms , Wind speed or hurricane ).
In arboriculture , the term " crust rifted "describes the natural process and condition of the peeling of the bark of a tree , typically in large pieces that can remain partially attached to the trunk until after a time completely detached by the elements of a peel eventual subsequent or more additional layers of bark. Examples of trees with exfoliating bark are "paper maple" Acer griseum , the genus Eucalyptus and several species of Betula .

The exine is the hard outer covering of grains of pollen . The drawings of the surface of the grains formed by the pollen are characteristic of each species usually used as characters for the classification of plants. The main substance that forms the exine is esporopolenina a polyterpene impervious chemical resistant. The esporopolenina is very resistant to decay and can get to give the exine last for thousands of years.
