The FF is a 4-seater coupe’ with a front-mid mounted 12 cylinders engine that marks a clean break with analogous models of the past in terms of performance and style. The FF is the first car in history of the Prancing Horse to be equipped with an innovative, Ferrari patented 4 wheel drive system which uses a rear transaxle for optimum weight distribution (47% weight on the front axle, 53% on the rear). The engine is located behind the front axle, while the gearbox/differential assembly is positioned behind the rear axle, resulting in a weight distribution typical of sports cars. The operating logic of the 4RM Control system is based on the concept of grip calculation to cover all possible conditions, from ice to a dry track. Grip calculation was first used in motorsports and was later developed for vehicles such as the 599 GTB and California and it is now the basis of the operating logic of the F1-Trac system. The 4RM control ensures maximum traction in all road conditions, as it independently distributes the maximum torque deliverable to each individual wheel. The new suspension geometry strikes an improved balance between ...
... comfort (noise and vibration) and perceived sportiness (reduced roll).

The Ferrari FF has a height of 54.3 in and a width (excluding mirrors) of 76.9 in. Width including mirrors is 81.3 in, length is 193.2 in, wheelbase is 117.7 in and dry weight is 3946 lbs. The FF has a luggage compartment capacity of 450 liters and a fuel tank capacity of 91 liters.

Design and Aerodynamics
The shape of the tail has been optimized to keep the air flow constantly in contact with the rear screen, reducing the size of the wake and enhancing the efficacy of the rear spoiler. The rear diffuser, which optimizes air flow extraction from the undertray, has three channels and introduces two original new solutions. One is the wing element that increases both extraction capacity and rear down-force while permitting a less extreme curvature of the central tunnel. The other is the all-new concave curvature of the lateral channels, which creates a uniform low pressure zone across the entire width of the undertray. The tail area has been substantially optimized to reduce aerodynamic drag and increase down-force. A base-bleed effect has been achieved by insuring a communication between the interior of the rear wheelhouse and the area adjacent to the taillight. The two air vents in the bumper separate the air flow along the flank of the car at exactly the point where both the wake and the low pressure zone are smallest, improving efficiency.

As every Ferrari, the new Ferrari FF has a truly unique design approach and technology innovations to achieve indisputable performance and driving experience under all weather conditions.
