How To Adjust Auto Play In Windows 7
As the life is getting busy we all want to do things as quick as possible. Even the smallest of things like opening the CD and USB flash becomes slow for us and we want it to be fast enough. There are many free software to download and use it on our computer to make thing work faster. However I would not suggest you to download these software’s as there could be a compromise in your security as most of these software come with spying software and may not be safe to use at many instance. On top of it Windows 7 has many flexible options which allow the user to modify the computer to there own choice so that you can browse the computer faster and do thing quickly without compromising the privacy.
One of such thing that come to me when I think of fast browsing on my computer is launching the media files from the CD ROM and USB drive on its own. I use to wonder what can we do to tell my computer that when ever I insert a music CD it should play the music and not ask me every time if I want to open it or not. After playing around the computer I noticed that Auto Play feature of the computer ...
... can allow us to decide what we want to do with the external device we have connected to the computer.
Following are the steps that will help you to play the music files automatically when you connect the device to your computer.
Step 1:- Click on the start menu and then click on the Control Panel, now you should be able to see the icon called Auto Play and incase you don’t see it may be you are in Category view so please click on the All Control panel icon on the right hand side.
Step 2:-
Once you see Auto Play and click on it you should have a screen that has the list of all the available media files starting from DVD movies to Pictures. You can adjust the default player or application for the media listed. Let’s take an example you have a DVD of music collection and you want to play it with iTunes and so in the screen you can adjust Audio CD to open with iTunes. This will bring up the CD every time in iTunes and you don’t have to select the iTunes every time you insert the music CD.
Step 3:-
However if you are not sure what should you do with some of them you can just set Ask me every time. Thus it will not play automatically and will ask you what application you want to use it with.
Step 4:-In case you do not want to set the default application because of any reason just uncheck the box at the top that says Use AutoPlay for all media and devices. This should remove the default application and you should be back to the old situation.
