Agra synonymous with the Grand monument dedicated to eternal love ‘Taj Mahal’ is hands down one of the most visited regions and an extremely popular tourist destination of India. Agra is also by far one of the most recognizable destinations of India; all thanks to the Taj Mahal a UNESCO enlisted World Heritage Site. Agra offers tourists a unique package of the old traditions melted in with modernism thus, offering an incredible experience. Agra also forms an integral component of the ‘Golden Triangle’ of the Indian Tourism Industry, together with Delhi and Jaipur.

Agra is city rich in culture, tradition, heritage and past which together give the region a very intriguing identity which draws in tourists from all parts of the world. Sitting along the banks of River Yamuna, this popular city of Uttar Pradesh is a distant far from its original beauty having fallen prey to the evils of overt commercialization, the region today resembles a crowded marketplace with numerous stall hogging the skinny streets and lanes of the city.

In addition to sightseeing there are plenty of other things to see and do in Agra like scouring the local markets famous for its stone boxes, jewelry, plaque, leather goods and perfumes among others. A must do in Agra is to adore the beauty of the Taj Mahal on a moonlit night to witness the true grandeur of the monument. Another must do in Agra is to gorge on the delicious variety of chats and the famous pethas (sweet) available at nearly every corner of the city.

There are plenty of Agra hotels catering to the lodging needs of the myriad of travelers visiting the region. The hotels in Agra found at every corner of the city are present across all budget segments ranging from the luxury hotels and resorts to the economy and budget hotels.

Agra though visited in large number throughout the year, the best time to visit this beautiful region is from November to March when the weather is cool and pleasant.
