There is a beautiful Hindi movie song “Chodo kal ki baatein” (The translation goes like this – Leave the past behind), and India has indeed taken the lyrics of this song seriously. Today, it has made a great progress in virtually every field, right from science and technology and from infrastructure to education. At present, India is considered a“learning hub”. With establishment of IIMs and IITs,the country now is a “big name”on the educational map of the world, particularly for management studies. There are some of the finest MBA colleges in India that are among the top ranking management institutes in the world. (Example IIMs)
Even after having a large number of institutes, graduates are usually found in a fix. And, as I always say that confusion is an inseparable part of a student’s life, so once they complete their graduation, they are in a dilemma; what to do next and if they find answer to “What”, they are again confused with from where to do? And due to some apparent reasons (Global markets are getting more dynamic and demanding) a majority of these graduates look forward to get a degree from ...
... some overseas university and at the same time they are unable to turn a blind eye towards some of the top B-schools in India. (Anyways, Indians are totally fascinated by the idea of going aboard). Now, this situation leads to the “confusion”, as to where to study?
Every coin have two faces, so it is very essential that you scrutinize every aspect, i.e., all the pros and cons (even if it is trivial) before making any decision about your college.
If we talk about getting admission in any of the MBA colleges in India, we can say that it is comparatively easy to get admission in the management institutes in the country. You do not have to go through a long process like getting a visa, completing other formalities (show the assets, passport, other immigration stuff) to get an enrolment in MBA course. And for admission in some foreign university, well you have to pass through this “lengthy” process before your admission is confirmed.
Though top B-schools in India provide world class education, they are still exam oriented in their approach, which in fact is not enough to sustain in today’s age where competition in the global market is getting more brutal.Universities in the foreign countries, however, focus on individual growth, which actually gives the student a cutting-edge, to survive in ruthless competition. Moreover, in overseas college, you will get good exposure and would get to learn a lot of thing from people coming from different backgrounds.
Inflation rates in India are very high, nevertheless, when it comes to choose between an MBA colleges in India and abroad, keep the expense factor in mind. The fees, loading and boarding charges (that is for the 2 years), in short, the expenses will be very high as compared to your post graduation in the country. So, if you are planning to go abroad, keep one thing at the back of mind that your parents have to spend a hell lot of amount.
Nowadays, education fraud has become a commonplace thing, not only in India, but also in other developed countries. Therefore, you have to verify the recognition of the management institutes (there have been reports of students conned by some fake Australian and Canadian universities). Verifying these details for MBA colleges in India will not be a tough job, while doing the same thing for some foreign university, you have heavily rely on some agents or unreliable sources.
