An Animation Film That Piques Your Interest About The Ice Age Period!

Have you ever heard about the term “ice age”? These happened thousands of years back and there were quite a lot of species that went extinct and one of them is the mammoths! I did not know much about this until last week. But when I saw the animation movie “Ice Age”, I researched about this more to learn about the exact happenings of this period. I downloaded this movie as I had a fast internet connection through one of the deals that I had subscribed from the provider. I know the movie had come a long time back, but I had not seen it and it is supposed to be one of the best animation movies ever. The third part is going to release soon and I wanted to see the previous movie.
After reading reviews that raved the movie, I got really curious. I was not disappointed the film and it met my expectations in every way. The first movie was released in the year 2002and the film has been created by Blue Sky Studios and release by 20th Century Fox. Sid is the highlight of the movie. The way he does stupid things and he is the one who brings the three together in the last and makes sure Manfred helps in taking the baby safely to his father. Manfred is a cynic mammoth who lost his family and is stuck with a partner he did not want and who would not leave him: Sid. He agrees reluctantly in helping the baby reach his father and they start following the human trail. They meet with Diego on the way who wants to take away the baby and have him. But, slowly he starts falling in love with the baby and becomes friends with other two. He helps in out-smarting the rest of his pack who want to make the baby their evening meal. The rest of the story is whether they successfully get the baby to their father and if they become the unusual pack of animals.
Though they are the main characters, the highlight of the movie is a completely different character. I am not going to break the surprise for those who have not seen the movie yet. The story starts and revolves around him. Though, he comes for a matter of minutes in the film, you would never forget his character in the movie. Apart from the animals, the next endearing thing about the film is the baby. Anyone would fall in love with the baby and the movie clearly shows the way he tries to win the love of Manfred. Any person would fall in love with a cuddly bundle who aims to please (most of the time) everyone and so does Manfred. He becomes protective of the baby after that and does not let Sid carry him around. The rapport between a tiny baby and a huge mammoth is shown beautifully.
The voice-over has been given by Ray Romano for Manfred, John Leguizamo for Sidney (famously known as Sid in the film) and Denis Leary for Diego. All three choices have been perfect for the voice-over and they have done justice to each character. I could say for the year it was released (2002), the animation done is pretty amazing. I could guess the amount of coldness during that period and time travel in to that period!
