I still remember it was two months back when, I signed up with Charter deals for my Digital TV, Internet and Phone services. I got all three in a bundle and they are simply amazing. You can save a lot of money as you need to pay a single bill for all the three services. They have three different bundles and you can choose the one that suits you.

I’m a phone-savvy person and I speak for hours on end with my friends. The best thing about the bundle I received is my Charter phone. With a charter service you need not pay any extra charges to make a long distance call to Canada, and Puerto Rico. In your phone, you communicate through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) which means that the signals will be transmitted over your internet connection. I got this awesome service on my existing phone number and the clarity of voice is really good. I also got the top calling features on my phone like Anonymous Call Rejection, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Selective Call Acceptance, Custom Ring, Call Screening, Speed Dial 8, Call Forwarding Variable, and Call Forwarding Selective.

I wonder how technology has advanced ...
... in a short period of time and the huge telephones have evolved to become miniature mobile phones that can be carried in your pocket. More and more stunning features are added to the mobile phones and they have seemingly endless opportunities for betterment in the future. Do you know who invented the telephone? It was invented by Alexander Graham Bell and the first speech was electrically transmitted on March 10, 1876. He spoke to his assistant Thomas
A. Watson and the first words were "Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you." Bell replaced the switch in the electronic circuit of a telegraph with a transmitter which could convert the human voice into electric signals. These signals were carried through copper wires to the receiver which had an electromagnet and a diaphragm to reproduce the original sound.

At that time, the people were skeptical about the potential of a telephone and how it could possibly modernize the society. The communication through the telegraph wires was predominant in the 19th century as it had been established 50 years before the telephone was introduced. The people could not conceptualize how a dual way person-to-person communication could have a supremacy over vague dots and dashes. William Orton, the president of Western Union in 1876 could not possibly understand the extraordinary prospects the telephone communications had over the traditional telegraph wires and he declined the option of buying Bell's patents saying "What use could this company make of an electric toy."

By the 1870’s, Bell took the telephone to the roads and made public demonstrations to bring about awareness among the people on how the telephone as a broadcasting system could transmit the voice signals hundreds of miles away. He wanted to make the people realize how the telephone could connect two people living in different places by word of mouth. But Bell’s telephone could only transmit signals for a very short distance. It was Thomas Edison who made the most important breakthrough in communication. He invented the transmitter and receiver that could transmit signals that were louder and clearer.

The commercial telephone service was successfully established by late 1870’s. And within the next 10 years, over 100,000 were installed. Only the rich business men could afford to have the telephone service as it was expensive then. Soon people started realizing the benefit of a telephone and human voice. In the beginning, there were no dial pad, no electronic switches and not even a signaling system to detect an incoming call. The telephone industry made drastic progressions in the 20th century and the service grew exponentially.

Now the mobile phones have evolved which are easy to carry and the technology has given birth to smart phones that allow you to access the Internet on your mobile.

I’m a very jovial person and love to have a lot of fun with my family. I’m having a rewarding experience with my charter phone as I’m able to save a lot even when I make long distance calls.
