The Best Gaming Device
There are so many next-gen consoles out there at the moment it makes it hard to understand which one you believe you should get. Xbox 360, PS3, Wii? or just go with a hand-held gaming device. Overall i believe the best to have is a PC. As with a PC it is less likely to break, As many of you know there is issues with the Xbox 360 and PS3, 3 Red lights or Blu-Ray disk drive giving up.
The PC is one of the best gaming consoles out there. You can always update your PC to have more RAM or a better Processor, but if you have an Xbox or PS3 you will have to wait till they bring out a new version or void your warranty and take it apart and add new parts. Still after you taken your machine apart there is no guarantee it will function properly or it will accept your new components. The PC you can simply take to a shop and then ask the person at the desk how much it would cost to add, lets say a DVD Drive (As many games are going on DVD's as they take up more space then a CD) I had to pay about $70 for my DVD drive and got the software needed to burn DVD's put on as an extra so I must of made a slight profit on the software.
Computer ...
... errors? The only major down fall to having a PC is the viruses (Unless you own a Mac, Barely any at the moment). Not many viruses are actually on the consoles, they are more like glitches there people exploit to annoy other players. You also more likely to crash on a computer, unless you keep your computer running smoothly and don't try run anything that your computer cannot.
Another small issue with the PC is that as games get better and prices rise you need to keep up with the amount of space on your hard drive required for example a minimum installation of GTA:SA will take up 3.7GB of space on a hard drive. Which if you got a fairly old computer will most likely use up a lot of your hard drive space, but with every problem there is a solution, you can buy about 100GB external hard drive for about $45-$100 as they are getting cheaper.
Although the PC is a perfect gaming device there is a lack of blockbuster games, but some do come out a couple months or years after the console version. Which can be annoying if you got a computer instead of getting a console which you knew you should of got. Even though there is a upside to waiting, you get updates. For example Gears of war for PC got a map editor and a new creature to fight and the Xbox did not. (Not even a downloadable content) Making it exclusive to the PC. Which is pretty good for waiting a couple more days or months or unluckily years maybe.
Personally I would recommend playing a bit more than you would pay for a gaming console to get the right specfications for what ever your trying to do and then simply buy the PC version of the game.
