Many people are not yet acquainted with the various advantages of massage chairs, but the product was actually first introduced on the market in the 80s. The massage chair was designed to relieve stress or tension and to alleviate pain from the back, by copying the actions, moves and techniques of a real person masseuse. Of course, in the beginning their techniques were quite limited and so were the effects, but with the advancement of technology, massage chairs today are incredibly effective, come in a variety of models and, obviously, tend to be very expensive. However, people who have experienced back pain for years and know what a ordeal it is to have no in hand alleviation are considering the investment worthwhile.

There are many types of massages, each intended to work on several different pains or group of muscles or even with different purposes, but as far as massagestole are concerned, two major techniques have been mastered so far. That would be the Shiatsu massage and the Swedish massage. So basically, designers and developers of a massagestol are creating the chair as to emulate the specific techniques of ...
... these two types of massage. In regard to the Shiatsu massage, the prevalent movements are ones of pressing, rolling, sweeping or rotating, with the main purpose of releasing tension from particular body parts and areas. As far as the Swedish massage is concerned, the massagestole designed for it have to master motions of rubbing or squeezing, as well as long gliding strokes. The aim of a Swedish massage, and hence of such a massage chair, is to enable a strong and proper blood circulation, which leads to alleviation of pain.

In order for a massage chair to be able to perform these tasks and mould on these particularities, it has a specific structure, made up of three major components: the motors, the nodes and rollers and the control pad. The motors of massage chairs are a vital mechanical feature, without which the other components, that being the nodes and rollers, couldn't move. The motors also control the seat back adjustments, in order for the user of the massage chair to seat as comfortably as possible. The nodes and rollers are the items that simulate the hands of a masseuse. They come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, fitting different needs. For example, big or large nodes and rollers provide a massagestol with a general approach on the technique in question. At the opposite end, a massage chair with small rollers and nodes will give the user a massage focused on certain points, a detailed one, targeting specific areas. Obviously, these specifics can be changed or adjusted by the user of the chair.

The control pad helps you do exactly that. You can set any massage chair to focus on any of your body areas in any way. You can have your neck massaged, your lower back or your entire back area with motions of rolling or kneading or with tapping movements. Even if the massage chairs come with pre-set patterns and programs, the idea is that one can adjust them as to best suit their needs.
