Do You Want Chocolate Novelties Or Hot Chocolate?
Nothing tastes better when the weather starts to warm than a piece of delicious chocolate from Choconet. The feeling that chocolate evokes is something few other foods can duplicate.
There is one hurdle that needs to be cleared in order for the consumer to receive the product in perfect condition, and that is the packaging and shipping of your chocolate item.
I really believe that many people get so excited about ordering one of our many chocolate novelties that they totally overlook the fact that chocolate is a perishable item that changes from a solid from to liquid as the temperature rises. We need to have the temperature stay at 72 degrees or cooler, the entire route that your chocolate must travel in order to assure you that it will arrive in good condition. Many of our clients do not take into consideration that their chocolate is typically delivered by one of the major carriers in a NON -AIRCONDITIONED box truck. The simple fact is that when the temperature is 75 degrees outside and the sun is beating down on these metal box trucks, with no ventilation, the temperature will be between 90-100 degrees. This ...
... is not good for the chocolate, unless you are looking to receive hot chocolate.
Many chocolate companies will not ship chocolate during the summer months because of fear of spoilage. We know how to package chocolate items and what method to ship to insure that your order arrives in good condition. We take great pride in shipping chocolate in the warm weather months.
We package your order in a Styrofoam insulated corrugated cooler box, in addition to a couple of reusable icepacks. This type of packaging protects the contents under normal conditions for 24-48 hours. This means that we also need to ship your order either via one(1) or two(2) day service if possible we also try to arrange to have your chocolate order delivered to an air conditioned location, such as a business, where someone is able to receive and sign for the package. Often times these delivery companies will leave packages on the porch or outside if no one is home, which is very risky when the temperatures are over 70 degrees. Another important fact to consider when ordering chocolate during the warm weather months is that we do not ship any orders over the weekend. So if you need to receive product on Monday, you will have to make arrangements to have it delivered the Friday before. If you order on a Friday and pick next day air the order will really arrive on Monday, which is 4 days in transit. Most carriers will store these parcels in large trailer with no air conditioning or ventilation. I guess I do not have to tell you how warm these trailers may get if the temperature goes to only 80 degrees. So the bottom line is your order needs to ship out Monday to Wednesday to arrive by Thursday or Friday, to insure that the chocolate does not melt. We also will make every effort to contact you by telephone or email if we feel there is any chance that the chocolate may be compromised with the method you have chosen online.
