Micropipette – Widely Used Liquid Handling Systems Of Any Laboratory

These are Single channel micropipettes, Multi channel micropipettes, Electronic micropipettes, fixed volume and variable volume micropipettes. Electronic Micropipettes are made on the basis of stepper motors with microprocessor controlled piston movement. Also, there are graduated pipette, Pasteur pipette and volumetric pipette which are easily obtainable for carrying on high precision examinations.
Micropipettes are very useful when samples need to be measurement specific. This type is adjustable and carries several tubes that facilitate microscopic lab research. Multichannel products come in various channel codex’s and can easily disperse and receive samples with a number of tubes in them. The popular channel versions available in the market are the 8 channel, 16 channels, 12 channels, and 20 channels. A recent introduction into the micropipette field integrates the versatility of micro fluidics into a positional pipette platform. These create a recirculation zone which allows constant control of a micrometer sized environment at the tip of the pipette.
Safety of the pipette and the users are given high importance now by the pipette manufacturers. Irrespective of brand of pipette or expensive nature of it, every micro pipette manufacturer recommends checking the calibration of a pipette after every six months. Companies involved with drugs or foods are needed to acquire the procedure of calibrating in every three months.
